the cn tower is built upon our bones

p/s. i screwed up my photography project and my art teacher yelled at me for a while but then she got all soft and said "actually it's great that you told me so i could tell you how to improve, actually these are really well done" blah blah dasfksld. ya well too bad that what ive done so far took FOREVER and now IT'S ALL WRONG. meh.

she does that everytime when she's lashing, she bitches for the first two minutes then later it's as if she's trying to make it all up and be nice. gag.

anyway i hope i dont fail the project seeing it's like 40% of this mark's term. HAHAHAHA

fudddddddddddddge i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate worrying about marks. i need my perfectionistic grade 8 self back.

yawn. i woke up at 7 30am this morning and now i feel DEAD. i spent maybe an hour and a half on the couch of a cold school office playing with my cellphone. i downloaded 2 ringtones and checked my email about 10 bazillion times during those 90 minutes.

anyway. on tbs just a while ago i watched Ella Enchanted (starring Anne Hathaway) and i was horrified that they totally butchered it. the book was one of my favourites when i was in grade 5, tho. the movie kept nothing except the title, everything is pretty much altered and therefore made no sense/was no longer brilliant.

i have a shitload of homework to do this weekend, ie an entire history project. hm hm hm. plus some writing assignments. blah blah blah

i wish my mom was home so she could cook me food. ive had instant noodles for maybe the last ____ meals i've had at home. barf. anyway she's been M.I.A. for a while so maybe i'll call her

ciao

is it just me, or has everyone's blogs hit rock bottom lately?... it's as if the blogosphere has suddenly turned into a ghost-town. the blogs aren't really dead, but everyone updates their blogs and leaves it at that.

ehn.

anyway, today after school, the bunch of us went to safeway and bought junk food (ie. fried barbeque chicken and bags of salty chex mix). then ate it all at one of the tables in our pathetic arbutus mall. yummers. i'm not entirely sure which was healthier: the time when we bought an entire carton of ice cream, or today, when we bought fattening potato wedges and fried crap?

esther showed me this the other day and you must watch it... it's freaking creepy:

remember Felix Felicis, the lucky potion, from harry potter VI? i want it badly. especially when nothing is going my way, ie. kind of everyday. iwantitiwantitgimmegimmegimme.

in other news, the skin of my fingertips are shedding. there are big holes in the top layer of skin, and i can peel it down too easily. i'm thinking maybe i should wash my hands more thoroughly after dealing with chemicals in the darkroom.

there are some things that are botherrrrrrrrring me but i'm trying to busy myself out of them. ew. im trying to keep myself sane with music and books and photography. actually, scratch the photography - it's causing frustration plus it makes my fingers peely.

p/s. OMG CHECK THIS OUT:

Holden Caulfield is #2! awww.

Scout Finch is #24,
The Cat In The Hat #39,
The Little Prince #46,
Big Brother #59,
Dean Moriarty #62,
Yuri Zhivago #84,
Harry Potter #85.

DEAR LARA: LOOK AT NUMBER 64.

this is a stupid nerdy confession, but i sometimes wish holden caulfield was real. goddammit.

we will vacation, you can be my parasol

o btw I got a call today and I HAVE A JOB INTERVIEW on Monday in downtown. wow crazyness. i don't even know 100% if i want the job.

my favourite thing in the entire world right now is wilco's song "hummingbird". not exaggerating.

I LOVE LIFE right now even though i have shitloads of math, english, and chem homework to do. wow what is this, the happiness flu? man, im so sutble.

byes!

so. awesome.

school today was GREAT. my day 2's are always enjoyable because i have french then history then writing then SPARE. artsy much. by the end of the day, i am jumping up and down from random giddiness....... uh. right. today during spare, esther and i watched videos on YouTube. f'ing addicting.

anyway i developed b&w photos of denise today bla bla blah. i tried to print a billion copies, each time with a different filter/exposure time/whatnot... and so i have wasted a giant load of photo paper. none of them are perfect yet, which frustrated me. ehn.

on a scale of 0 to 10, my grade 12 year so far (the 3.5 weeks of it) is a 8. WOW OPTIMISM. the main reason for this is my history 12 class. and writing too, sometimes.

bass in your face says:
i hope i get better by next week or something. i'm dumb.

- Jen - Fenny says:

- Jen - Fenny says:

- Jen - Fenny says:

bass in your face says:

- Jen - Fenny says:

MARK DARA'S WORDS IN STONE!

Dara says:

My birthday is soon almost kinda not really. I wanna have a fat class thingum.

um you'd better have a fat party (i almost typed that as frat party. whoops). i'm counting on you to be irresponsible, dare, for once in your life. kthx.

PARTY OR ELSE, NO CLASS CARD/GIFT!

***PURE EVOL***

it's 1 11am. god i think i need therapy or a time manager or something. i waste way too much time.

the handshake drugs i bought downtown

Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast, like a hummingbird

odd tidbits from today:

i developed some of my black and white film after school. i didn't screw up developing them... i was scared that i might, because i've never used the school darkroom before. i printed a contact sheet and the snapshots look pretty good. some are a little too blurry from the light diffuser, which was intentional, but i'll worry about that later.

i also watched some of the senior boys volleyball game. i waited for zach to play, but he didn't get up from the bench. drat. i left school at 5pm.

i read persepolis and its sequel yesterday and my mind is stuck on them. in my head, things are black and white comic strips with little speech bubbles. zing! i love those books, though.

my friend likes this drummer boy ("he also plays cello and piano!") and all i can do is laugh. aw. i hope she doesn't check this blog any time soon or she'll be like AHHHH DONT LAUGH AT ME.

esther and i plan to hook everyone (who is single) in the goddamn class up with somebody else. actually, its more esther's scheme and not really mine. but uh im good at it? ok i have no idea what im talking about. la dee dah.

i'm going to go do french homework now. ciao.

ps. there are many things that i'd like to say to you but i dont know how.

I thought this was ... amazing. why isn't the world uproar with indignant anger and frustration?

- My Texas driving record has been “lost” and is not available.

2. Military

- I joined the Texas Air National Guard and then went AWOL.

- I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use.

Accomplishments As Governor Of Texas

- I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union.

school was actually enjoyable today... AMAZING. i think i need to stay away from the mini class, in its entirety, more often. coughaidencough

during my spare today, esther, ben and i talked extensively of music while listening to their ipods. the whole time the conversations resembled something like this. it got ridiculously annoying after a while (everyone talking, no one listening) but WHATEVER. i babbled on about god knows what.

esther: hey do you know this song?
me: omg! yeah! i like belle and sebastian.
ben: my favourite jane's addiction song is 'been caught stealing'.
esther: i went thru this intense david bowie phase a long time ago.
me: is your favourite singer ben folds?
ben: we're gonna play some aerosmith songs at our next dance.

for once, ian just sat there quietly in the corner.
he did mention he liked that shakira song ("hips dont lie"), though. what a riot.

during my spare block one day...

me: ben, i heard you wanna be a cop when you grow up.
ben: yeah. thats why i'm taking law 12.
esther: i think that it's like, sooo good that you know what you want to be. i'm so envious.
me: yeah. what do you want to be, esther?
esther: oh, i dont know... but i dont want to be like one of those people who go to work everyday and HATE it.
me: are you going to go to art school?
esther: maybe. i dont know.
ben: i bet you want to be a fashion designer.
esther: me? what gave you THAT idea?
ben: coz youre a girl.
esther: um. jenny's a girl. does she wanna be a fashion designer?
ben: probably.
me: uhh no.
esther: what do you think jenny will be?
ben: an indie music critic.

HAHAHA. righto. how amusing.

im pretty jealous of him wanting to be a cop so badly. i wish i had something like that. bah. i kind of suck at everything, so i dunno.

yeah ok i'll go away now

i suddenly have multiple greatest hits albums/reissues to buy. i severely need the Jane's Addiction's Greatest Hits... jane's is my newest obsession.

i kind of want the Sebadoh reissue of III. and the Beach Boys' reissue of Pet Sounds... not to mention the reissues of Pavement albums i've been meaning to buy since the earth cooled.

i might even buy OLP: A Decade (out in November).

yawn. man, i'm boring. i think i nearly fell asleep just typing that.

ANYWAY, today i did shitloads of homework lalalalalaallalaalala. i read all my history handouts. this is a feat worth celebrating. seriously. took me the entire frigging day to read the goddamn things. i think i've had enough of the Treaty of Versailles. i feel like i know it like the back of my hand.
holy batman i've posted a lot today.

STRATHCONA TRIP PICTURES
(taken with a shitty disposable, then scanned. wheeee)

i took about 8 other pictures that look same-y. so i just scanned one.
i love the scenery. LOVE.

bill and kim, my rockclimbing instructors.
they were the best i've ever had at strathcona.

taken from the top!
look at the lil row of yellow helmets eh?

before the superduperdramaramatic school dance.
left to right: may, denise, esther, aylz, lara, me.

class photo of the GRADE 12 MINIS that turned out really shitty.
oh well. too bad.
(i'm between ian and rachel, at the right side of the photo.)

note: sooz asked me what a MINI school was...
it's a smaller 150-student school (30 students per grade that you
are more-or-less stuck with for your entire high school experience)
within in a normal 1200-student high school.

it's an enrichment program for nerdy/ambitious kids
who accelerate in academics so they can go out and
go on super cool trips like this one during the schoolyear.
the trips are supposed to BUILD CHARACTER,
teach leadership, etc.

i could go on forever about the Mini but there will be
time for that later. maybe.

a bunch of us girls had this cabin room on our very first strathcona
trip in grade 8. now it's our last year and we returned to the same room
to take a nostalgic goodbye picture.

top: esther
middle row, left to right: emily, me, dara, lara, aylz, rachel
front two: denise, roxy

NOSTALGIA NOSTALGIA.

p/s. the above photos are uploaded on my FLICKR account, not my buzznet. (i have no idea why i have two photo accounts... whatever.)

world's shortest fairy tale, stolen from outlaw:

Once upon a time a guy asked a girl "Will you marry me?"
The girl said "No!"
And the girl lived happily ever after and went shopping, dancing, camping, drank martinis, always had a clean house, never had to cook, had sex wtih whomever she pleased...did whatever the hell she wanted.
Never argued, didnt get fat, travelled more, had many boyfriends and saved more money. She watched chick flicks, never football, never wore lacy lingerie that went up her ass, had high self-esteem, never cried or yelled, felt and looked fabulous in sweat pants, burped swore and farted all the time.

wOrd.

++++++++++++

my newish mosquito bites from my strathcona trip have permanently settled into my skin, i can feel them etched deeply into it. i shouldnt have scratched so much. o well too bad. i still have those mosquito bites that i scratched until the bleeding/scarring point from back in grade five.

my rants are so pointful.

i was reading EVERYFREAKINGBODY's blog archives today. i mean like EEEEEEEEEVERYBODY. jesus. im really good at repetitive time-consuming shit like that.

NINE AND A HALF MONTHS AGO,
I POSTED SOMETHING LAME:

ONCE UPON A TIME there was a girl named dani. she had a friend named suzanne and another friend named tyler. dani loved both of her friends very much, and tyler and suzaane loved dani as a friend very much, in return. dani suspected, however, that suzaane and tyler were better friends with each other than they were with dani. this fact hurt her a lot, but she survived nevertheless. one day, dani went to school, just to realize that she hadn't seen suzanne or tyler at lunch. she was wondering around the halls, looking for her friends, when she spotted the two of them by the lockers. suzanne and tyler were holding hands and talking and were looking into each other's eyes with liking. dani stared, her mouth agape. suzanne and tyler were in love! she sighed a huge sigh, left the hallway, and sat on a table in the cafeteria. then she flicked her salad with her fork and spilled all her juice. she didn't eat all afternoon, but chewed on her hair and took out some lip gloss and licked that instead.

the end.

RANDOMNESS, brought to you by procrastination.

Holy shite, it's GRADE TEN ZACH.

... i'm scared.

ps. hey! my old deleted blog has a new spambot/owner now! and the blog is dedicated to advertising cellphones! as of now MY OLD BLOG HAS BEEN SWIPED FROM EXISTENCE! (before, my strange days blog could be reached thru the "cached" option of google. but no more.)

pps. holy frig i am so good at procrastinating.

Saturday, September 23, 2006

Here are the long-awaited portraits i took with my new SLR camera. i've only scanned the best ones because it's too time-consuming to scan all.

the quality of the pictures are rather shitty because the scanner turns all pictures a bit darker/bluer/grainy. i dont have Photoshop at the moment so uh, they're pretty much unmodified, except for brightness and other simple things like that... i tried to match the actual developed photos as much as i could.

Portraits (taken with SLR)

Dara, with Lara.
i love the dramatic lighting, though i was completely
unaware of it when i took the actual picture.

Denise, in front of the school steps.
looks really natural (except for the fact that i was forcing her to smile).
love her earring. this is one of my favourites.

Esther.
we were trying to do crazy pin-ups but then
gave up and did this one instead. she looks adorable imo.

Dara, in her TEAL shirt.

Ian. he's supposed to look more blonde and less tanned,
but ehn, my scanner isn't that great.

btw, he wanted to buy this picture for $10.
i assume he didn't really mean $10...
but i thot that was pretty vain. how like him.

ian: "jenny! i'll pay you! i dont have a good picture of myself."
me: "...... uh."

Ian and Kate, with Anna's car.
remember how was willing to pay for his portrait?
well, he didn't want this picture.
nor the portrait i took of Kate (his gf). HAHAHA.

Emo Roxy!

that's it for today kids! commence your stealing of pictures =D
PLEASE give me photo credit if you do post it somewhere, though. kthx.

i had two dreams last nite. one was that i was sneaking around my school at late nite with friends. then i looked across the street and saw a glittering ball of cityscapeness but apparently it was the taj mahal. it struck me that i've never seen a picture of the taj mahal at nite. it was beautiful and i was taken by surprise. it looked like something out of a van gogh painting.

in my other dream, aiden was telling me how retarded i was and he kept giving me wtf-is-your-problem looks. which is not so far from reality, but weird that he was in my dream eh?

mmmm weekend.

my sister's gone to some band camp for the weekend for her vancouver youth symphony orchestra stuff... and the house is silent.

yesterday in downtown, i bought the jane's addiction cd Nothing's Shocking. i played it while i made breakfast this morning and it's awesome.

btw i made the most perfect breakfast ever today, i made omelettes and even used a whisk. this is unfathomably productive. haha. i even had a container of yogurt.

right.

blarrgh. i have soooo much homework and i can't believe i've only had 1 real week of school so far. UGH

anyway... onto my assignment about machiavelli and realistic politics. bye

RANDOM PICTURES from Eric's house party last week
(note: LAME ASS captions.
lack of creativity at the moment.)

we got to his house intersection, but we wanted to be uh, fashionably late,
so denise and i SAT ON THE EMPTY SIDEWALK until we got too cold.

p/s. denis is reading my article :O :O :O

SCARY DENISE.

at eric's door

for some reason, i really like this picture.

zach

WOAH who is this?
(jordan! jordan! jordan!)

neesey and her pretzel

eric's magicalguitarness

rox, her drink, and caylie/kayley/kaylie

it's the LARA FACE!

eric played some zeppelin song.
i mostly stayed in the living room because of his guitarness.
true story.

larastall!

denise, hiding from various peoplethings... cough cough

Foosball: the greatest game in existence.

i want his guitar.

roxanne, wearing a Police shirt
(she was named after the Police song.)

rachel and aylz

AWWW IT'S ZACH N ROXY.

vvv

this is an intelligent pose.

roxy: "ohhhhhhhhh my gaaaaawwwwd.
and i wassss like WHAAAAAAT?"

that thing in zach's hand is a DESTROYED cookie monster.

RACHELBLUR.

denise and the math contest...

(upon hearing the dog's name, caylie, denise pondered and said,
"waaait, isnt cayley a math contest?"
pst. DENISE IS A BIG FAT NERD.)

david. i cant tell if hes drunk or whatnot.

ok thats enough for now. there's more on my buzznet page.

the videos i took of drunk roxy are as funny as i remember them, but they're kind of random. i will maybe put that up soon... but i think i'd feel bad. so maybe i'll ask roxy first.

it's been a crazy week, with massive amounts of homework and school shit in general. WHEEEE. today i dropped off two resumes in downtown and i'm already scared because i don't want to be overstressed in my grade 12 year if i do manage to get a job.

Ehn.

for some reason i always feel nervous when someone else looks at my resume.

oh yeah. i completely forgot to blog about grade 8 & 12 nite. yesterday after school, us grade 12 mini students got into groups with grade 8 minis, for a traditional mini school scavenger hunt thingum... the whole point of it is to have "inter-grade bonding time".

for the scavenger hunt, you gotta go around the neighbourhood, doing things like "COLLECT AS MANY CHOPSTICKS AS YOU CAN FROM DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS" and "HIT ZACH WITH A WATER GUN", for points.

the afternoon was fun but i gotta say that when we got to samar's house, it became annoying because people of my own grade are pretty much retarded. when i spend time with all of my 26 classmates, i get irked in waves of annoyance, as if an invisible someone is poking me incessantly.

Thursday, September 21, 2006

4 minutes to 2am. i finished writing two pieces of prose about my Strathcona trip, one for french and the other for writing class. they couldn't be more different from each other.

that's kind of amusing.

NIGHTS.

ps. i have done zero history/chem homework tonite. friggggggg.

i need to check out vancouver peeps' xangas more often. freaking pointless and hilarious. snopes shit, internet quizzes and pictures galore. azn lingo everywhere (e.g. LA at the end of every sentence, z's after every plural noun). ew.

sometimes i have a hard time deciding whether livejournal or xanga is more emo. i'm going to say LJ for now. xanga is by far more addicitive, though. mostly because they are so downright retarded. and asian stuff is almost always more comical. i dunno why.

ok this post officially proves that im obsessed about emoism, since my posts seem to be about nothing but that. HA.

Final Fantasy's (aka Owen Pallett) 2006 album He Poos Clouds won canada's best album with "artistic merit" last nite at the first ever Polaris music prize ceremony. yay!

i haven't heard Clouds yet but i have listened to Final Fantasy's previous album Has A Good Home.

aaaaand in perfectly cliched indie fashion, my newest love of life is Owen Pallett, who is pictured above. aw.

in completely unrelated news, i went to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at Bard today and oh man it was AWESOME, the best version of AMND i've ever seen or imagined. none of the speeches were snooty and all of the comedic parts were hilarious.

the play had a general wacky/eccentric air. the costumes were kind of a cross between random funky stuff and cabaret/baroque... the costumes reminded me of something straight out of a dresden dolls or panic! at the disco music video. sometimes kind of wtf-inducing, but mostly pretty cool.

the actors who played Puck and Bottom were EFFING AWESOME and they pretty much stole the show.

it's been raining like crazy all day today, though. i need to start poking around the fireplace and the thermostat in the house. i've been too cold since morning.

i got them pictures developed. some turned out really good. im giddy as a goose because im all photonerdy now.

i have lotsa yummy homework to do, so if youre not denise/dara/lara i guess you'll see them later when i decide to scan them in.

my biggest pet peeve now is PEOPLE BLINKING IN OTHERWISE PERFECT PHOTOS.

"im going to be completely cool. think ice, think snow."

in other news... i have wagonfuls of homework. blah

soooo much homework. i must read about 2 bazillion pages of handouts for history... insane amounts of work to do, but at least it will keep me busy and away from thinking about peopleshit for a while.

tomorrow i am going to see A Midsummer Night's Dream at Bard on the Beach. wheeee!

i bought a white knit hat today. dara must see it because this hat is the exact kind we'd try on when we go windowshopping.

whenever i feel like shit, it seems like the first thing i do is BLOG. i have a giant urge to do so, whenever i'm stressed/pissed. is this abnormal, or is this abnormal? aren't people supposed to TALK ABOUT IT and TAKE INITIATIVES and COME UP WITH A SOLUTION, instead of hide away and be mad at an INTERNET DIARY?

i dunno exactly why i'm like this, but i'd like to be cliche-normal-cool for just once. and have friends who see me as cliche-normal-cool. etc. bla bla bla blablablasldfs. right now im in the "cynical weirdoid bitch that has gone semi-lunatic" niche. how pleasant. im ever so grateful.

jebus.

if you want to succeed, i think being as unoriginal as you can possibly be is the way to go. all that "be-yourself" stuff is bullcrap.

... eons later, I AM ALIVE, I HAVEN'T KILLED MYSELF. hooray! i have a major headache though. that's ok.

tomorrow, i will compensate my completely shitty today by being freakishly happy about EVERYTHING. being sad takes way too much energy, plus im all cried out, i think im shriveled up like a prune.

for the first (and only) time, i am going to attempt this foreign thing called op-ti-mi-sm. WHO GIVES A RAT'S ASS ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK, RIGHT?

RIGHT!

f the people.

p/s. i better be able to steal dara or i will go back into my emo mode. I AM COMPLETELY SERIOUS.

p/p/s. my mom bought tons of korean junk food crap for dinner. now i'm going to stuff my face until i am contentedly satisatied/obese. HA
god im so unbearably sad.

wow, im so incredibly pissed right now. though all i can do right now is laugh it off until the point of insanity, because the alternative solution would be my LOSING MY MIND COMPLETELY and going on a murder rampage.

judgemental people suck. and high school is full of 'em. oh wait i mean THE WORLD IS FULL OF THEM FUCKTARDS.

bye
who am i? i'd like to know that, myself.

that line has been stuck in my head for a while. sounds like something out of a book.

im not usually the one to obsess over celebritydoms but THIS IS HALARIOUS. i love gallery of the absurd.

on a completely irrelevant note, i am NOT DONE UPLOADING PICTURES FROM MY KOREA TRIP. but i am almost finished... so um, expect more piccies and stories. and yeah yeah i'll upload the videos of wasted roxy from yesternite's party asap too. just gimme some time doods.
this is the epitome of emo: a star AND converse shoes!

during dinner tonite, i tried to explain to my mom what EMO and INDIE were. she was very interested. it was complicated and i feel like i can write up an entire university thesis on the two "subcultures", as my mom puts it. my sister and i have sort of different ideas to what emo is, though. ehn. she hasn't explored MySpace yet, so i'm going to assume that i automatically know more about emoisms.

Hugo is so sweet.

Oh et puis JEN, c'est le dico du rock ambulant, elle a plein de cd et une culture rock à ce qu'on me dit assez impressionante! elle assez cynique je trouve, un peu comme Dara dans la série du même nom (sad sick world... lol).

im licking my own ego here. AHHH HELP.

i should really stop blogging... about such pointless shit.

byes!

can somebody with mad css/html skillz HELP ME, coz im really getting sick of not being able to see my fuckin sidebar on Internet Explorer.

le sigh.
i wanna delete this blog and start all over.

whatEVER.

oh man. i have so much history homework to do, plus i have two chem tests this week. blargh

not to be vain or anything (im such a liar) but I HAVE AN ARTICLE PUBLISHED IN THAT GODDAMNED STUPID NEWSPAPER. and it was my very first article too! hooray hooray hooray. i have another article which is published online. they are both cd reviews.

=D

my articles suck muchly, but the newspaper sucks in general so it's ok. if you are BC middle/secondary school student, YOU CAN READ MY ARTICLE OMFG. you probably know which youth newspaper i'm talking about? just pick it up from school or a community centre or a 7-11. LOOK FOR MY ARTICLE UNDER THE CD REVIEWS SECTION, MY NAME IS JENNY LEE. haha, you can stalk me and stuff now because now you know what school im from.

righto. i think i needs some sleep.

byes!

GREETINGS Y'ALL. whatta insane nite hly shit. eric's party was iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinteresting but not really unexpected. certainly it was entertaining...

just as we were leaving eric's house before midnite, annnnnaananana arrived:

roxy: HEY ANNAAAA, we're just leaving!
mig: wow, you're WASTED.
roxy: HAVE A GREAT NITE.
mig: uh huh...

that pissed me off so frigging much because she said that wasted line very condescendingly to rox. plus she didn't even look at her face when rox was talking to her. hmmmmm i think i may have an anger problem.

anyway ya bye.
i filmed (mostly) hilarious videos so i'll upload those when i feel less tired.

EMO IDEA ALERT. for prom, i'm going to find a green dress and wear it with my green chuck taylors.

ZING! i am so original... not.

anyway, i'm supposed to go to eric's weirdo party right now as soon as denise shows up. she is nowhere to be found. maybe i should go call her.
... and an hour later, at 3 23am, i am still up. wheeeeee blogs.

i got a mimeographed letter from Harvard offering me "our congratulations on your academic achievements" and urging me to "consider carefully the unique opportunities at Harvard". FUNNEE. apparently, if you come from a family with incomes less than $60 000 USD, you don't have to pay a cent for tuition. Sometimes being poor is AWESOME, doods.

yeah, whatever.

ps. i miss hugo. i CANNOT believe hugo is a grade 10 memory. time is going by waaaaaaaaaay too quickly.

so you drive red, and i'll drive black

sooo... while i was out of town, i was NOT AWARE of this whole Montreal Shootings that went on. i read two days worth of newspapers a while ago and the stuff is majorly freaking me out, even though the news is 3 days old.

o_O

doug coupland once said something like "i get subscriptions to three newspapers. if the front pages of all three newspapers are the same, then the world is in trouble. if not, the world's safe for one more day". now i apply that rule unconsciously every time i look at newspapers.

ehn. so depressing.

hi errrbody! i'm back from strathcona, vancouver island, as of about.... 9 hours ago. i took a giant-ass nap then unpacked. wheee i have LOTSA laundry to do.

my knees are all nicely bruised and bloodied from rockclimbing for three days, they are as attractive as a pile of dead moths. mmmm moths. plus my face alone has at least 30 mosquito bites, which is less than the usual, but still it's pretty disgusting.

anyway.

as i mentioned earlier... there werent real big catfights and bitchfights (..................) oh but there is some weird gossip going on, ie tobs gave her fone number to pat, like OHMIGOSHZZZZ. the shocking part of this piece of news is not the giving away of digits part, but the fact that ANTISOCIAL PAT USES THE TELEPHONE TO CONTACT OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.

i know i'm shocked.

gargh. to be honest, my last strathcona trip was pretty anticlimatic. how sad. not only have i had better trips, (my grade 10 mountaineering trip is my favourite) but also classmatepeople are generally weirder as they get older.

THAT SAID, i am loving being a grade twelve because we get to rule the mini (revision: you get to rule the mini if you are aiden) and the rest of the mini school students really looks up to our grade. plus we have the best student council president in the history of universe.

+++++++++++++++++++++

CHRONOLOGY OF WHAT HAPPENED
DURING THE FIVE DAYS.

Monday - arrive at Strathcona Park Lodge & Outdoor Education Centre after 7 hours of commuting (school bus, ferry, then greyhound), meet with trip groups/leaders, pack bags, leave for campsite.

Tuesday/Wednesday - Rather slack camping shit plus rockclimbing. Inter-grade bonding between mini school students. Exchanges of Chuck Norris jokes (according to jacob, dead baby jokes are SOOOO last year). Campfires. S'mores. Mosquitoes. Lots of stars. Strathcona is really the only place that makes me feel in awe when viewing the stars.

Thursday - More of the same, then return to the lodge by evening, eat real dinner on real plates with real forks and real cups. Take a freakin cold shower. Get dressed and dolled up (barf, i hate that phrase) for the incredibly retarded school dance/grade 8 intro nite.

BEFORE THE DANCE - grade 12s introduce the grade 8s to the rest of the school. this was fun and i loved it. i like being older than others, i think.

AT THE DANCE - antisocial people go about their antisocial ways, horny people go about their horny ways (coughtaylordongcough), emo people go about their emo ways, bossy people go about their bossy ways, etc etc etc. holy jeez, everybody is so freaking trite. highlight of the dance: esther and i make up our top secret ultra cool dance routine.

AFTER THE DANCE - traditional grade 12 after-dance gathering. there are attempts of sharing memories. (btw, i was NEVER around when that whole caitling-offering-aiden-head thing happened). rather painful/pathetic, but we did the best we could... ummm yeah. this topic will be covered extensively during my grade 12 year, i suppose.

AFTER THE GATHERING - take pictures, piss off our french teacher, talk about some shiz while in sleeping bags. Pack.

Friday - Eat about six eggs (4 in scrambled, 2 in boiled) for breakfast. Hahaahaha. Start 7 hour commute back to Vancouver. greyhound, ferry, schoolbus. except our school bus broke down in north van and we had a big thing with smoke coming out of the school bus in the middle of the highway. yadda yadda.

+++++++++++++++++

all in all, it was the last strath trip, which should have been REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT, but it was kind of everything-less. it's like a fat symbol... it's really meaningful, yet not really, because not everyone tried to make it meaningful. what is meaning, anyway? having great consequences? ugh.

i think i'm just in a minischool-mode right now. to make it short: strath was fun, but not as fun as it used to be, say, in grade 8, and a large part of that was because of the classmates involved. but you know, people change and shiz. i can't expect sugar coated stuffs.

... i don't know what i'm saying. i think i will still enjoy ferry rides to vancouver island when i'm older, though. and i definitely want to go back to strath at a reunion or something, because it's so awesome just in general.

pictures of strathcona trip to come later, when/if i develop the disposable camera pictures and scan them in.

its 2 30am right now. god im such a freak.

Monday, September 11, 2006

i'm done packing half-assedly. oh well. i crammed all my shit in my bags and plan to strategically pack once i get there, the nite before. WHEEEE ROCKCLIMBING!

there are about a total of 4 people who read this blog nowadays... seriously.

MY DEAREST FOUR READERS! i'm off and away on yet another trip, this time an annual school one. bye bye and see you on Friday when i come back from my (very last) strathcona trip.

expect stories of possible catfights, bitchfights (which are worse than catfights :O ) and delicious class gossip whence i get back. HAHAHAHA.

i really shouldn't be laughing. i am supposed to be feeling sad right now... LE SIGH, THIS IS OUR LAST STRATH TRIP EVER, DOODS. it's probably what i'll miss the most when i'm finished with high school and all.

the most tender place in my heart is for strangers.

there's a storm a-brewing.

ugh. dara just left msn and now theres nobody left. i feel so needy. ew

LATE NITE RAMBLE BEGINS NOW!

i can't believe i write for such a shitty newspaper and yet have to work so hard for it... unbelievable. 90% of the stuff doesnt even get published. oh well, free cds don't hurt.

i had a pretty fat msn conversation with zach about our commandeering soco half. (cough cough). i'm good at bitching about people, AHAHAHAHA. he left saying "i feel i've let out enough anger for the nite" which was funny because he didn't seen angry at all. if he were talking in person, he wouldn't have even frowned or raised his voice.

YES SIR RIGHT AWAY SIR, OF COURSE I'LL BRING THOSE BURNED CDS TO THE TRIP, SIR.

cough syrup is the nastiest stuff, it makes me want to vomit.

i should get to sleep before i get sicker eh?

i've checked the same blog over 10 times in the same hour tonite. getting antsy. i didn't pack yet and i haven't done some other important things and i am making myself more bizzy tomorrow by procrastinating. yarr.

sometimes when i lie in bed at nite, i think about my family or friends dying early. tears pop out and my nose stings. i don't know why but i do this regularly.

sometimes i intentionally don't read the paper because reading it makes me feel so down.

Saturday, September 09, 2006

sometimes i say something so ridiculous, i go Pffft! unconciously after i say it. like now, when i was intentionally trying to be nice to aiden. what a riot.

vancouver's all rainy and cool today, for the first time in months and months. i feel calm, the way you feel calm when you stand by tranquil ocean waves.

maybe it's just my cold.
commercial drive, eastside vancouver

last nite was terrible, i woke every 30 minutes either too cold or too hot. i'd put on a sweatshirt, then i'd get all steamy and take it off, only to become freezing cold. my throat is pretty icky but i'm taking lots of gross syrup, so i will clear up soon, i hope.

i went to see my photography teacher's exhibition on Commercial Drive, which is a sort of sketchy but still fun place to go shopping and the like. i think she went to Mexico to do some black-n-white street photography. she's spanish, so it's likely. her framed works are on sale for $250-$350, which is pretty reasonable, i have to say.

my mom and sister and i had lunch on commercial drive, there is a bunch of really good and authentic italian restaurants there, complete with flags and all. we went to Marcello. i had the most amazing pasta with mushrooms and capers.

my mom's always wanted to go to italy and now i sort of do too.

thinking about uni is some scary shit.

im officially sick and there's a thistley bush at my throat. cough cough

i have so much CRAP to do this weekend.... sigh

maybe i'll scan and post some pictures i've taken with my new SLR as soon i get them developed.

Friday, September 08, 2006

its the end of the first school week and i'm totally pooped. so f'ing tired. my right leg is in terrible pain for some reason, i'd like to amputate it right about now.

so sleepy.

anyway today after school, we went to kerrisdale to get bubbletea/do pointless shit. we looked at clairol bottles for a while because lara wanted to dye her hair but then we couldn't find the right shade. lara wanted us to all put on scary black emo eyeliner @ the cosmetics section, but we never got to that. we were totally obsessed with the word emo today.... roxy was in emo attire today, kind of.

we bought some chips from london drugs then were WAY TOO LAZY to do anything else so we sat on the pavement outside the store, with all our backpacks sprawled across the sidewalk. we resembled/pretended to be panhandlers... seriously. or at least sketchy juvenile deliquents............ uhhh righto.

PICCIES:

lara and me.

roxy made this sign, HUNGRY FOR LIFE.

Dare.

pot/marijuana leaf

roxy wearing roxy clothing. (oh-o, i am so clever.)

lara draws in her brand new sketchbook

lara's drawing of the day.
...we're so weird.

dara looks thotful and all pondering-like. le sigh.

yarrr. look at us.

roxy THE EMO.
i dont know if you can tell, but she's wearing black uber high
heels with black socks. uhhhhh dude.

lara the PANHANDLER.
uhh that can is a can of cashews we bought to eat...mhm

ok thats it because buzznet "will be back shortly", ie fucked, so thats all you get to see, but maybe check my buzznet page later or something and you'll see more.

im going to plop down on my bed and rest. byes

my History 12 class is AWESOME. i had it for the first time today and i think it will be my favourite course of the year. the first thing the teacher did after doing the attendance was give the class a test, though. that kind of scared everybody. revision: it only scared us minischool nerds. ha

anyway, my Writing class is pretty cool also and mr taylor seems like a nice dude. i'm only paranoid about sharing stuff i write with people but i'll worry about that laterrrrr.

i have quite a bit of homework to do already, which is ewwww. im so goddamn busy this weekend and on top of that i have to pack for next week.

byes!

i'm at school right now, its lunchtime. denise is nowhere to be seen which sucks because i need to vent. aiden is being the world's biggest prat. he said something just a while ago and i could have STABBED HIS FUCKING FACE. i'm in the computer lab by myself because i can't stand to be in the student room with aiden's FACE in it.

Update: AHAHAHAHAHA THIS POST CRACKS ME UP.

Wednesday, September 06, 2006

by "writing" this post i am PROCRASTINATING doing the stupid dishes. i hate dishwashing blaaaaaaargh just shoot me out of my misery. i wanna sleep till the sky turns flourescent yellow, ie till the END OF THE WORLD.

ps. i sound exactly like a 6th grader.

when i see you cry, i just smile

first full day of school today. i was bored within the first block (english). my english teacher always does the same ol thing, she goes over her "rules" then says that we MUSN'T GET OFF TRACK over and over, but then makes lil jokes while she's speaking then wait for people to laugh then people nervously snigger at joke then she explains joke, then eric makes some smart-alecky remark and we're ALREADY OFF-TOPIC.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. um can we please not read 1984 and have a predictable cliche discussion please? ive read it a bunch of times but i really dont want to discuss it and overanalyze it blahablahalsdjfdsfdksf

in good news though, we might read Tess of the d'Urbervilles in english and i am excited more than i should be.

photo12 is scary because i dob't have the prerequisite, only the instructor's permission. my (rather small) class includes more retards than my previous photo classes. there are some dumb blonde girls and some pseudo artsy kids who wear bob marley shirts, etc etc etc. SO F'ING PREDICTABLE. they all know each other and were yakyaking and i was silent. meh. there was this silent asian dude and he was probably the most original of them all HAHAHA.

it's only first week of school but there is some dramarama already. GAWSH.

our new head teacher kind of talks as if he were a preacher/self-help book salesman. all pseudo inspirational and the like. just... whatever, dood.

one of the things i hate with a bloody passion is MAKING RESUMES. actually scratch that, LOOKING FOR A JOB. i haven't actually looked for a job once in my life, but the thot of it makes me want to wretch.arf arf.

TERRIBLY IMPORTANT UPDATE: woah. mark is online and i'm weirded out

im too easily weirded out

hmmmmmmmmmm

she should have been a son

on a COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT note, Hugo is still blogging! :O :O :O
(i found it on lara's defunct blog.)

i wish i had the patience to go through it and maybe read it here and there, but my french sux too much.

GAR I HATE THE THOT OF GOING BACK TO SCHOOL, DOODS. this is all ive been saying lately and my mom thinks im depressed. what a riot.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

ps. THIS is my camera and i'm scared of it.
