greetings all. i'm wondering who still checks this blog. anyway. i spent an exorbitant premium ($40) on developing two measly rolls of black and white film today. sigh. i need a darkroom. developing colour rolls are cheaper by almost 10 dollars, and takes only a day, not three weeks.
watched Dirty Pretty Things yesterday. intense movie. makes me more glad than ever that i was not born in a position where i would have to resort to sell myself to make money as an illegal immigrant. it's pretty fucked up.
i went swimming at thunderbird pool and spent a solid half an hour at the outdoor pool, watching these mexican tourists cheer each other on to jump off the 10-metre diving board. there were hoards of them there, a lot of kids and teens (musta been a camp or something?). each person climbed up to the diving board, glanced down at the uncannily blue waters, and freaked out.
then the crowds at the bottom whistled and jeered and took pictures and hollered in spanish. each diver would take the maximum time on top of the diving board to make sure they had everyone's attention before chickening out or jumping off, to defeaning cheers. very amusing.
