i'm afraid of who's afraid of virginia woolf

howe and nelson, by herzog

i went to the vancouver art gallery with ester yesterday to see Fred Herzog's photography exhibition. wowee wowee wow. it was pretty wicked. if you live in the greater vancouver area, you should go see.

his photographs of 1950s-1970s vancouver look surreal and glamourous and authentic and eccentric and old and real, which i find hard to believe because i rarely see those qualities in today's vancouver! the photos look like they should be modern because they are crazy technicolor-esque prints, except all men wear hats and all women cotton dresses.

i want to go see them again soon, as well as the other exhibitions at VAG.
