hi errrbody! i'm back from strathcona, vancouver island, as of about.... 9 hours ago. i took a giant-ass nap then unpacked. wheee i have LOTSA laundry to do.

my knees are all nicely bruised and bloodied from rockclimbing for three days, they are as attractive as a pile of dead moths. mmmm moths. plus my face alone has at least 30 mosquito bites, which is less than the usual, but still it's pretty disgusting.

anyway.

as i mentioned earlier... there werent real big catfights and bitchfights (..................) oh but there is some weird gossip going on, ie tobs gave her fone number to pat, like OHMIGOSHZZZZ. the shocking part of this piece of news is not the giving away of digits part, but the fact that ANTISOCIAL PAT USES THE TELEPHONE TO CONTACT OTHER HUMAN BEINGS.

i know i'm shocked.

gargh. to be honest, my last strathcona trip was pretty anticlimatic. how sad. not only have i had better trips, (my grade 10 mountaineering trip is my favourite) but also classmatepeople are generally weirder as they get older.

THAT SAID, i am loving being a grade twelve because we get to rule the mini (revision: you get to rule the mini if you are aiden) and the rest of the mini school students really looks up to our grade. plus we have the best student council president in the history of universe.

CHRONOLOGY OF WHAT HAPPENED
DURING THE FIVE DAYS.

Monday - arrive at Strathcona Park Lodge & Outdoor Education Centre after 7 hours of commuting (school bus, ferry, then greyhound), meet with trip groups/leaders, pack bags, leave for campsite.

Tuesday/Wednesday - Rather slack camping shit plus rockclimbing. Inter-grade bonding between mini school students. Exchanges of Chuck Norris jokes (according to jacob, dead baby jokes are SOOOO last year). Campfires. S'mores. Mosquitoes. Lots of stars. Strathcona is really the only place that makes me feel in awe when viewing the stars.

Thursday - More of the same, then return to the lodge by evening, eat real dinner on real plates with real forks and real cups. Take a freakin cold shower. Get dressed and dolled up (barf, i hate that phrase) for the incredibly retarded school dance/grade 8 intro nite.

BEFORE THE DANCE - grade 12s introduce the grade 8s to the rest of the school. this was fun and i loved it. i like being older than others, i think.

AT THE DANCE - antisocial people go about their antisocial ways, horny people go about their horny ways (coughtaylordongcough), emo people go about their emo ways, bossy people go about their bossy ways, etc etc etc. holy jeez, everybody is so freaking trite. highlight of the dance: esther and i make up our top secret ultra cool dance routine.

AFTER THE DANCE - traditional grade 12 after-dance gathering. there are attempts of sharing memories. (btw, i was NEVER around when that whole caitling-offering-aiden-head thing happened). rather painful/pathetic, but we did the best we could... ummm yeah. this topic will be covered extensively during my grade 12 year, i suppose.

AFTER THE GATHERING - take pictures, piss off our french teacher, talk about some shiz while in sleeping bags. Pack.

Friday - Eat about six eggs (4 in scrambled, 2 in boiled) for breakfast. Hahaahaha. Start 7 hour commute back to Vancouver. greyhound, ferry, schoolbus. except our school bus broke down in north van and we had a big thing with smoke coming out of the school bus in the middle of the highway. yadda yadda.

all in all, it was the last strath trip, which should have been REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT, but it was kind of everything-less. it's like a fat symbol... it's really meaningful, yet not really, because not everyone tried to make it meaningful. what is meaning, anyway? having great consequences? ugh.

i think i'm just in a minischool-mode right now. to make it short: strath was fun, but not as fun as it used to be, say, in grade 8, and a large part of that was because of the classmates involved. but you know, people change and shiz. i can't expect sugar coated stuffs.

... i don't know what i'm saying. i think i will still enjoy ferry rides to vancouver island when i'm older, though. and i definitely want to go back to strath at a reunion or something, because it's so awesome just in general.

pictures of strathcona trip to come later, when/if i develop the disposable camera pictures and scan them in.

its 2 30am right now. god im such a freak.

the entire mini school, yes. 150 students in all, plus some teachers.
