"just because YOU have the emotional range of a teaspoon, Ron, doesn't mean everyone else does"

saw Harry Potter & Order of the Phoenix at the theatre yesterday. my first harry potter movie in six years (the first one disappointed me horribly, thus my boycott for the past years). i talked too loud and someone in the row in front of me scolded me. ooooops. about three minutes into the movie, i wanted an intermission so that i could laugh.

here are some completely random lists

things that sucked:

- harry/hermione/vernon dursley/dumbledore characters. le sigh. there are soooo many things wrong with them, i can't even begin.
- harry's ultra-emoness
- the fact that hermione had 2 expressions during the entire movie
- the feeble and insagacious air of dumbledore
- lack of quidditch
- lack of malfoy scenes. I WANT MORE MALFOY.
- lack of snape scenes.
- cho chang was too whiny
- tonks was too ugly :( god, im picky.
- lupin was too jolly-looking. he probably appeared in movie #3, but i hadn't seen it. how disappointing.
- they didn't show us St. Mungo's
- missing key facts, such as the fact that dumbledore is the order's secret keeper

things that ruled:

- NEVILLE's character. MARRY ME NOW.
- luna lovegood, especially her dreamy voice
- the inside of the ministry, including all the floo network fireplaces, the department of mysteries, the fountain, etc. highly detailed!
- the wizengamot. nice hats.
- azkaban. i know it was brief, and it probably showed up in HP#3 movie, but i obviously haven't seen it. cool triangular building!
- the painted cats in umbridge's office. HAHAHA.
- umbridge herself, actually. she was close to the umbridge in the book.
- fred and george's exiting scene, and the W insignia in fireworks. hahaha
- snape's memories that harry sees through a shield charm (though in the book they're actually in snape's pensieve). snape looks accurately oily and slimy.
- bellatrix lestrange was insanely well-done! she looks like a half-dead zombie!
- the death eaters. ultra creepy.

in conclusion, barely worth the $9 i spent. however, i DID have more than a few laughs (mostly because it was so ridiculous), so i give it 2 stars out of 4.

man i'm such a nerd. i'm looking forward to the next book. comes out in a freaking week!

i knew it was missing a few things. no malfoy, no quidditch! not even a mention of quidditch! the last scene with sirius was kinda sad, though.
