go back to the gold soundz

denise et dara, at some dance last year.
i dont really remember which...

its so hot and humid today. i am about to boil over. the indoor air itself seems to be sweating.

i went to the thunderbird outdoor pool in UBC to wait for my sister while she was having her swim practice. i found a shade by a tree, so i lay down on the bench. the sun shiiiiiiining and the cool breeeeezes and the chlorine smell. mmm. i listened to wilco and fell asleep. tres excellent nap.

after that we had some hagen daaz ice cream bars. yum.

tomorrow is my sister's first swim meet of the year. yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar here we go again. im going to have weird sleeping patterns from tomorrow till the end of summer, at least on the weekends.

my sister and my mom wake up at 5am to get to the swim meet by 6am, and im often left awake insanely early in the morning. then i can never go to back to sleep, so i look out the window and ponder and lie in my sister's bed for a while, then i lie on my mom's bed for a while, then i lie on the couch for a while, until i notice that i'm fucking famished, i better eat something.

on summer nites, i can never fall asleep. i know i complain half the time about wanting to sleep, but when i dont have school, im kept awake all nite and i blog at 3 30am and i look out the window and i lie on the hardwood kitchen floor and think. or sometimes not. i just sit there and breathe.

"We favor the simple expression of the complex thought.
We are for the large shape, because it has the impact of the unequivocal.
We are for flat forms because they destroy illusion and reveal truth.
The artist was attempting to make art more than something to just look at,
they wanted it something to be involved in, something too big to ignore.
It is our function as artists to make the spectator to see the world our way,
not his way."
